Lou Ann Boone, age 96, died on November 18, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on March 12, 1926, in Henderson, KY, to Martha Clay Overfield and Clarence Spurgeon Overfield.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jenny Lou Smith, of Little Rock, AR, and Martha Ann Curtis of Bethesda, MD; brother, Hugh Elliot Overfield; sister, Mary Jane Kennedy; seven grandchildren, Shannon Leigh Ball, Shelly Ann Chapel, Samuel Shane Ball, Destiny Campbell, Michael Clay Curtis Sr., Ryan Pendleton Curtis, and Caitlin Timmons Curtis Ehlke; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Tristan Davis Fowler, Samuel Blake Ball, Kemper Landon Ball, Boone Connor Ball, Sadie Lou Ball, James Ryan Curtis, Catherine Angela Carmen Curtis, Michael Clay Curtis Jr., Rebecca Morgan Curtis, Dylan Boone Curtis, Anna Grace Ehlke, Catherine Rose Ehlke, and Sarah Lee Ehlke. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Boone, Jr.; daughter, Rebecca Jane Boone; sister Sue Clay Overfield; brother, Clarence Bethel Overfield; and granddaughter, Tori Rebekah Fowler.
She was an amazing mother and wife who took three young children and traveled around the world to join her husband in his career. Together they enjoyed many fascinating experiences. During that time they lived in Ahmadi, Kuwait and Sumatra, Indonesia. Later they also lived in Tehran, Iran and Aberdeen, Scotland.
A celebration of life is scheduled for December 8, 2022 at St. James United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Greg Schick and Rev. Ben Crismon officiating. A reception to follow the service. Interment will be held at a later date in Henderson, KY.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. James UMC or to the charity of your choice.
