Lorraine M. Lemaire, 79, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She attended Rogers High School. She met her husband Jay Lemaire who was in the Navy, stationed in Newport, Rhode Island and they were married November 29, 1952. She started teaching sewing lessons from her home and then moved on to open her own fabric store in Newport, Rhode Island. In 1978 she took a job at Hodges Badge Company in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and moved to Washington, Missouri in 1988 to open a new facility where she worked until 1998 when she retired and then in 2006 she moved to Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Victor Lemaire, of Sherwood; daughter, Robyn Lemaire, of Sherwood; sons, Michael Lemaire (Cathrine) of Woodland, California, Thomas Lemaire, of Newport, Rhode Island, and Jeff Lemaire (Debbie) of North Little Rock; five grandsons, Matt (Jennifer), Nicholas, William, Thomas, Jr. and Christian Lemaire; granddaughter, Michelle Lemaire; great grandson, Stetson Patrick Lemaire; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Ferriera and her sister, Victoria Davidson.
Lorraine will be cremated, so in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Victory Baptist Church School, 515 Sherwood Avenue, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
