On the evening of January 10, 2011, Lorraine Brown went home to be with her Lord. Lorraine spent the last eleven months of her life at the Evansville Care Center in Evansville, Minnesota. Prior to coming back to Minnesota she had lived for about eighteen years in Bismarck, Arkansas. Lorraine was born on September 23, 1926 in rural Comfrey, Minnesota. She was the daughter of the late Keith and Grace Thompson. For a number of years she worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Minneapolis and Park Rapids, Minnesota. Over the years Lorraine and her husband Walter were members of Baptist churches in Minnesota and Arkansas.
Survivors are Wendell and Ruth Brown, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, of Evansville, Minnesota; Joyce Gramentz, sister-in-law, of Martinsville, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 15, 2011, in the Chapel at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, with Rev. James Calhoun officiating. Interment will be in the Bismarck Missionary Baptist Cemetery. Friends and family viewing hours are 6 to 8 pm on Friday.
