Loretta J. Ruple Monk, 84, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away peacefully on November 9, 2020. She was born December 7, 1935 to the late Alonzo L. Long and Maude Aumegine Bland Long Gwatney.
Loretta loved life! She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother “Lolo”. She cherished her family with all of her heart and soul. She was a phenomenal cook; her pies were legendary. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sing and harmonize. Loretta never met a stranger, loved to visit and loved people with a whole heart; and, she always had a smile, warm hug and a listening ear for anyone in need. Loretta was faithful, committed, loving and selfless in every way. She was a lifelong member of First Assembly of God church in North Little Rock. She was a true prayer warrior and wanted everyone to know about the love of Jesus and the faithfulness of God.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Walter L. Ruple (29 years) and Don Monk (20 years); brothers; James, John and Huey Long. She is survived by her sister, Alice Crowson; sons, Ronnie Ruple (Marisa), Eddie Ruple (Andrea); daughters, Jan Heslep (Jeff), Amanda Bowers (Clark); step son, Mike Monk (Carol); eleven grandchildren, Justin, Jamie, Aurea, Lindsey, Amy, Christina, Riley, Emma, Katie Anderson (Andy), Maggie Murdes (P.J.) and Tyler Treece (Lindsey); eighteen great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Wesley, Carson, Jude, Josiah, Justus, Jesse, Annarisa, Victor Anthony, Zane, Conley, Elliott, Ezra, Sadie, Skye, Jameson, Brandon, Millicent and Beaumont.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Johnston, MD, moms family doctor for over 22+ years; Hospice Home Care of Arkansas, Little Rock office for her care in Sherwood; Hospice Home Care of Arkansas, Searcy Office for her care in Cabot; Wright By Your Side in Home Care, of Pulaski County, Tina Wright and her amazing nursing staff; and Seniors Serving Seniors Home Care in Sherwood and the Sammons Family.
