Lorena Whitworth Malcom age 90 of Arkadelphia died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born June 29, 1919 in Clark County Arkansas the daughter of Eddie and Lucy McAnally Whitworth. She provided childcare services in her home for many years. She was a foster parent, a member of the Home Extension Club and TOPS. Lorena was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. Her special gift and ministry was calling the sick, homebound and elderly. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, James F. Malcom, three brothers, Jack, Raymond and Eddie Whitworth; two sisters, Corine Malcom Stiffler and Annie B. Purifoy.
Survivors are two daughters, Brenda (Melvin) Morris of Jonesboro, AR.; Janice (Barry) Jones of Malvern, AR; one sister, Evelyn Wilson of North Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Kevin and Janelle Morris, Crystal (Ralph) Reed and Justin Jones.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Richard Price officiating. Interment will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 11th at the church. Memorials may be made to Richland Cemetery Fund %Mary Sue Thomas, 973 Central Rd. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
