Loren Ashley Coffman, 72, died peacefully on April 23, 2013. Born on September 12, 1940 in Little Rock, he was preceded in death by parents Dr. Ashley R. Coffman and Sarah Frances Pless Coffman of Conway.
A proud Wampus Cat, Warrior, and Razorback, Loren graduated from Conway High School, Hendrix College, and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he received an electrical engineering degree. At the time of his disability he was employed by Arkansas Power and Light. He loved building power lines. For many years he was an amateur ham radio operator (WA5LIW).
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Carolyn Phillips Coffman, sons Robert Ashley and Edward Andreas, Edward's wife Rachel, and grandchildren Ethan Andreas, Ryleigh Grace, Greta Marie, and Edyn Mae.
The family thanks Dr. Delbra Caradine, Melissa Cleary and Margaret Jones of UAMS's HouseCall Program and also Susan Durnal, Loren's personal caregiver.
Memorials may be directed to Levy United Methodist Church, 701 W 47th, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118 or Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Services will be Friday 1:00 p.m. at the Levy United Methodist Church, Rev. Jimmy Mosby presiding. Burial will follow in Edgewood Memorial Park.
