Lora Lina O'Neal

Lora Lina ONeal, age 74, of Kirby, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born on October 29, 1943, in Oakland, California, the daughter of Fidel Gonzales Benavidez and Lydia Padilla Benavidez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wayne ONeal, Sr. on August 7, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul Wayne ONeal, Jr.; her daughter, Sylvia June ONeal; her parents; and her sister, Emma Jean Benavidez. She enjoyed painting and cooking. The most important thing to Lora was that her family always came first. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of and being able to spend time with each and every member of her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Lacey Hockaday and her husband, Corey, of Nashville and Justice ONeal of Kirby; two step-grandchildren, Deanna Kievit of Kirby and Larry Peterson of Florida; her eight siblings, Merlinda Benavidez, Viola Gonzales, Leo Benavidez, Ernesto Benavidez, Elva June Gonzales, Debra Benavidez, Elizabeth Benavidez and Marty Benavidez; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 21, 2018, in the Midway Cemetery in Kirby with Bro. George "Boots" Donaldson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Leo Benavidez, Ernesto Benavidez, Al Gonzales, Corey Hockaday, Jim Bob Hockaday and Corey Kievit. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
