Lonnie Tidwell

Lonnie G. Tidwell, of McRae, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018. He was born September 11, 1927 in McRae to George and Bessie Tidwell and attended McRae schools. Lonnie married his soulmate Lela McGlothin October 21, 1955. Lonnie was a Veteran of the Korean War and a retired waterproofer for thirty-eight years. He was pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church in McCrory, minister and deacon at McRae First Baptist Church. He was active in his community and a former school board member. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to all of his family. Most of all, he was a soul-winner for Jesus.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Lela Tidwell of McRae; children, Gary Tidwell (Tracy) of Cabot, Vicki Rains and (Rodney) of Searcy, son-in-law Jeff Holt of McRae; five grandchildren, Michael Rains (Leslie) of Denver, Colorado, Rachel LeMay (Aaron) of Denton, Texas, Rebekah Rains of Tyler, Texas, Chad Holt and Chess Holt of McRae; three great-grandchildren, Phoebe LeMay, Elliana Rains, and Silas Rains; two sisters, Pat Bradberry and Rose Leak, and brother Neil Tidwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa Holt, two sisters and one brother.
