Lona Sue Chancellor

Lona Sue Chancellor, age 65, of Amity, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Lona was born on March 12, 1957, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of Thomas Gene Haggard and Joyce Bean Haggard.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike Chancellor; and her favorite dog, Kaos.

Lona thoroughly enjoyed the little things in life. Her family was always put first. She enjoyed planning trips and seeing new things. She was a devoted caring nurse who loved and showed endless compassion in every phase of her 30-year career. She had a reputation built of being an amazing nurse and everyone cherished her work. She defeated breast cancer at the age of 40. She loved all animals and made a ritual to sit for hours and watch her deer and hummingbirds that came to visit. She was an avid sports watcher with the Razorbacks being her favorite. Any Sunday afternoon would be spent watching a NASCAR race. She never failed to give notice to a gorgeous sunset. One of her favorite places to go was to the casino, with late nights being her thing. Despite being limited for the last few years, she made the best out of it. She remained so strong fighting until the end. Lona was the most loving wife, mother, "Mo", sister, and aunt. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Kenya Robbins, and Kayla and Keith Harrington; her grandson, Lincoln Harrington; her two sisters and their spouses, Brenda and Gary Doster of Alpine, and Rhonda and Dempsey Floyd of Bonnerdale; her step-mother, Shirley Haggard; her step-brother and his wife, Shaun and Tina Bean; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of wonderful friends
