Lois Jester Smith, age 95, of Bonnerdale, died Monday, October 21, 2013. She was born on June 18, 1918, at Mountain Valley, the daughter of George Terry and Pearl Mae Graves Terry. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Vincent Lee Ragsdale; her second husband, Grady Jester; two sons, Alfred Lee Ragsdale and Doyle Wayne Ragsdale; one daughter, Jane Golden; one grandson, Terry Ragsdale; one granddaughter, Sheila Markley; one great-grandson, Jason Markley; two brothers, Harry Terry and Earl D. Terry; and three sisters, Ethel Bailey, Mildred Gillham and Verna Mae Terry. She was of the Assembly of God faith, was known by all who knew her as a "prayer warrior" and she had great faith in God. She belonged to the Hairdresser Association of Arkansas, was owner and operator of the Lois Barber and Beauty Shop, enjoyed gardening, canning and reading her bible. She dearly loved her family and to her family she was always the solid rock and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Marlin Smith of Bonnerdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Lurlene Lois and John Markley of Mountain Home; nine grandchildren, Randy Lee Markley, Cheri Lynn Hill, Lonnie Ragsdale, Lynn Ragsdale, Mike Ragsdale, Travis Ragsdale, Tracy Ragsdale, Cheryl Speer and Gary Ashbrook; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Terry of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Rev. G. C. Kirksey of Hot Springs; several nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Rev. G. C. Kirksey officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mazarn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Travis Ragsdale, Tracy Ragsdale, Allen Ragsdale, Shelby Ragsdale, Jonathan Hill, Jacob Hill, Brian Hill and Brian Speer. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews and John Markley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Branch Ministry, 3564 Park Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas, 71901.
