Lois Fortson

Lois Katherine DuVal Fortson of North Little Rock passed away on January 23, 2010. She was born at St Vincent Infirmary to Dollie and Edwin DuVal on May 2, 1907. She married Haskell Fortson in 1927 and became a homemaker raising their three children.
Lois said the most important event in her life was her baptism into the Church of Christ. Her husband of 58 years, Haskell, pre-deceased her as well as her daughter, Martha Katherine Fortson Graham, son Haskell Thomas Fortson, a grandson Steven Fortson, and a brother Edwin H. Du Val of Kentucky. She is survived by a sister Thelma Mary DuVal Russell of Wichita, Kansas, her youngest daughter, Patricia Ann Fortson Rebsamen (Alvin), and by 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 8 great-great children.
Funeral Services will be held at Church of Christ, 4801 Somers Avenue, North Little Rock, AR Friday, January 29 with visititation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the celebration of Lois' life at 11:00 a.m. The burial service will be Edgewood Cemetery. The family request memorials be made to Paragould Children's Home at 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450-3319. Thank you to the Staff at Lakewood Plaza Nursing Center for the loving care given to Lois.
