Lois Cogburn

Lois Cogburn, age 86, of Glenwood, left this earth on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, with her loved ones by her side. She was born on September 28, 1929, at Kirby, the daughter of Frances Killian and Bertie Duggan Killian. On November 28, 1947, she was married to Thelbert "Hoss" Cogburn who preceded her in death on May 25, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Charles Cogburn, Kevin Cogburn and Robert Cogburn; two daughters, Virginia Pate and Patricia Cogburn; two granddaughters, Shelly Lynn King and April Renee King; two great-grandsons, Mack Cogburn and Jonathan Hale; her sister, Louise Mitchell; and her brother, Sammy Killian. She attended the Mount Zion Free Holiness Church and was a homemaker. She truly enjoyed working in her flower gardens, in which she took great pride, especially her roses. She was a loving and dedicated family person, whose greatest joy in life was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved so much. She is survived by seven sons, Gary Cogburn, Dean Cogburn, Dwight Cogburn, James Cogburn and Johnny Cogburn, all of Glenwood, Joe Cogburn and Roger Cogburn, both of Kirby; four daughters, Sandra Duggan, Della Sue Cogburn, Betty Welch and Debbie Hill, all of Glenwood; twenty-five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Billy Thomason officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
