Lloyd Curtis O'Dell, Jr., 80, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, always full of humor and good cheer. He could always be counted on to be there for his family and friends when they were in need.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Timberlake O'Dell and sons, James M. O'Dell (Ashley) and John P. O'Dell, all of Little Rock; brother, Donald B. O'Dell (Inee) of Hot Springs; sister, Jeanie Quinn (Neale) of Little Rock; grandsons, Aaron Rouby and Ryan O'Dell; granddaughter, Lauren O'Dell and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd C. and Florence Mansfield O'Dell and his sister, Colleen Carter.
Mr. O'Dell graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Finance. He attended the Merrill Lynch School of Finance in New York City while working for Merrill Lynch. He then went to work for Commercial National Bank as a Vice-President, and graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Banking. He was also a Vice-President of National Old Line Insurance Company, and retired from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as the Finance Director. He was a long time member and officer of the Park Plaza Lions Club and served on the boards of the Arthritis Association and of Presbyterian Village. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.) Little Rock, followed by burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will greet friends and family Monday at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon prior to the service.
