Linda M. Newcomb Yelverton

Linda M. Newcomb Yelverton, age 68, of Glenwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Linda was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on October 21, 1953, the loving daughter of Coy Leo Newcomb and Maude Alice Faber Newcomb.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jay Newcomb; and her sister-in-law, Joey Newcomb.  On August 19, 1987, she was married to the love of her life, Ray Yelverton.

Linda worked as a registered nurse for almost thirty years in area hospitals and nursing homes.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 10.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Yelverton of Glenwood; her daughter, Kam Crosswhite and her husband, Doug; her two sons, Mike Norman and his wife, Holly, and Brant Yelverton; her brother, Robert “Bobby” Newcomb; four grandchildren, Adrianna, Amanda and Ashton Crosswhite and Brylie Yelverton; and her great-granddaughter, Saileen.  It would not be complete if her cats, Fritz and Tabby, were not mentioned.

It was Linda’s wishes to be cremated and that there would be no formal public services held.  Linda will be remembered and honored in private by her family at a later date.   

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home - Glenwood.
