LINDA MARIE VANDERHOFF

August 31, 1949 – February 23, 2020

My wife, friend, lover and soulmate quietly ended her hard fought battle with cancer and is at peace.  She graced and enriched my life, especially on June 8, 1979, when she married me and we became one. She was a strong willed, independent, intelligent, talented loving person who cared deeply for family and friends. She worked over thirty one years as a radiology technologist, helping care for others so they could receive proper medical care.  She spoke often with pride of her children and how they grew to be strong, successful, loving adults with their own loving families.

Linda leaves behind to celebrate her life her husband of over forty years, Dean; children, Paul (Joanna) Rivas, Lindsay (Marcus) Verbos; grandchildren, Kristopher Rivas, Megan Rivas and Grayson Verbos; sisters, Marcia (Gary) Imdieke, Michelle Leatherberry and Lisa Collier; along with several nieces and nephews.

Linda loved to travel, visiting several states, Canada, Germany, Austria and Turkey and with her sisters to Mexico, several Caribbean countries.  Two of her favorite memories are of traveling last summer to Yosemite and San Diego with our son and his family, and last Christmas in Pennsylvania with our daughter and her family.  Her diagnosis did not stop her from living.  Between treatments she continued to live to the fullest, exercising and going to movies with friends, lunch dates with the girls, reading traveling and caring for family.  She received several setbacks during her course of treatment, but refused to give up and came back strong each time.  Unfortunately, the disease came back too strong this last time and she just did not have the strength to continue the battle. Linda was preceded in passing by her parents, Otho Collier and Delores Fennel; brother-in-law, Glenn Leatherberry; and nephew, Jason Leatherberry.

I wish to thank the professionals the caring staff of Baptist Hospice.

In lieu of flowers or other items to the family, donations in her memory may be made to either LRCompassionCenter.org or Toysfortots.org, two of her favorite charities. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.

Linda, until we are together again, Night Babe, Love You.
