Linda Ruth Scivally, a beacon of love and strength, was born on May 23, 1944, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. With a heart as expansive as her determination, she touched the lives of many during her remarkable journey. Linda quietly passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock on December 18, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and unwavering dedication.
A graduate of the Jonesboro High School class of 1962, Linda furthered her education at Arkansas State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Education in 1967. It was this foundation that would guide her through an illustrious career as she owned and operated an afterschool and daycare program for a decade, shaping the lives of countless children with her caring spirit. Afterward, she dedicated her talents to bookkeeping until she reached the age of 78, embodying a work ethic filled with resilience and commitment.
Linda was not only a hard worker who consistently made ends meet; she was also a devoted mother to her children, but especially her beloved daughter, Amy. Linda committed her last years to caring for Amy, demonstrating the depth of her love and the strength of her character. Although Amy has passed away, her spirit continues to be part of Linda's enduring legacy.
In addition to her professional achievements, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader who adored cross-stitching and playing the piano. Her love for strategy games showcased not only her sharp mind but also her passion for challenges that brought family and friends together in laughter and camaraderie.
Survived by her son, Louis Scivally, her daughter Robyn (Aaron) Cartwright, and her cherished granddaughter, Sara Beth Pierce, Linda’s family was the heart of her world. They find comfort in holding onto the memories of her determined spirit, her strength in adversity, and the warmth she provided as a loving matriarch.
Linda Ruth Scivally’s legacy lies not only in the titles she held—mother, grandmother, and friend—but also in the compassionate moments she shared with those around her. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved and cared for.
A Celebration of Life will be planned after the first of the year. Please check back here for updated service information. You may also email Robyn at robynscivally@gmail.com for any questions.
In her last days, one of Linda's biggest regrets was not being able to deliver her toy donation to the local toy drive. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting toys and weighted blankets at her Celebration of Life to be donated in her honor. Monetary donations may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children and Family Ministries.
