Linda Smith

Linda S. Smith passed away on April 8, 2020 peacefully in her home.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Cecil P. Smith, her Father and Mother Milton and Joan Stanley, and sister Vivian Stanley.

She is survived by four daughters, Cheryl (James) Pierce, Jennifer (Tony) Flynn, Karen (Russel)Moore, and Benita (Michael) Smith. A sister Margaret (Mark “Tex”) Smith; brother, Milton Jr. (Linda)Stanley, and sister-in-law Mary (Charles) Ligon and four grandchildren, Matthew Moore, Houston Pierce, Max Pierce and Ainsley Abigail Flynn. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.

Linda S. Smith was born June 9, 1948 in Americas, GA to Milton R. and Joan D. Stanley. By the time she was 14 years old she had traveled the world, some of the places included England, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Germany and Holland, she met her first husband in Florida and then moved to Arkansas in 1975. She had two daughters and was a Human Resource Manager for a large diaper company for 20 years. She eventually found herself single and in 1998 married her soul mate and love of her life Cecil P. Smith. She was married to Cecil for 21 years. A special bonus to marriage he gave her his wonderful family who she was extremely close to and loved dearly.

Linda was a highly intelligent, unique, private person who was loved and admired by her family and friends. She had a passion for stones, crystals, angels, cross stitching, music and books. She was a avid reader and frequently made donations of books to the Clark County Library. She was known to write daily postcards sending up lifting thoughts to her friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her true bliss was riding around the farm with the love of her life and seeing the wildlife and all natures beauty. Linda said, “I did not get upset about just traveling in Clark County because I had true pleasure and happiness. That is true wisdom to know where your joy lies. I’m grateful for all of you and wish you great happiness. Love Linda”

Once the social distancing has lifted a memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers Linda would like donations made to PATH International, 8670 Wolff Ct. #210, Westminster, CO 80031 (The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International). PATH Intl. promotes safety and optimal outcomes in equine-assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs.
