Linda Owens

Our dear, sweet mother, Linda Sue Owens of Beebe, Arkansas, age 76, took Jesus’ hand and made her journey home on December 5, 2022, surrounded by her family, leaving her pain and suffering from cancer behind.

She was born July 12, 1946, at home in Beebe, Arkansas, the only child of Faye and Humbert Fowler.  She was a Baptist by faith.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her many different kinds of flowers.  She worked at Lomanco in Jacksonville for 16 years, from 1992 to 2008, before she retired.  She later decided that she missed working and got a job at Walmart part time.  In 2014, we found out our dad had cancer.  She stopped working and dedicated all of her time caring for him until he passed away. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyce Owens; her great grandson, Kaiden Owens; and sister/sister-in-law Linda Marek.

Linda is survived by her three children, Ricky Owens (Pam), Angie Owens (Mark), and Cindy McColgan (Andrew), all of Beebe; 10 grandchildren, Linda Lavoie (Henry), Tosha Loftis (Coy), Matt Owens, Ricky Owens, Jr. (Kyana), Justin Rowden (Kimmey), Zack Owens, Jeremiah Owens (Kayla), Jonathan Owens (Courtney), Houston Owens, her special baby girl, Emily McColgan; sister/sister-in-law, Shirley McKinney; brother-in-law, Daniel Marek; great grandkids; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

We would like to extend our most gratitude to Hospice Home Care, and her caring nurse, Lori Stark.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, AR 72012.  Funeral service will be Friday, December 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
