Linda Kay DuPuy

Linda Kay DuPuy, 74, passed from this life on March 31, 2023 while in the comfort of home and family. She was born May 14, 1948 in Los Angeles, California to Joe and Donna DuPuy. She grew up in California until moving to Arkansas in 1980 by way of Whidbey Island, Washington. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and was a hard worker her entire life. She gave her last nearly 15 years of service as Director for Admission & Recruitment to the College of Medicine at UAMS. In her “retirement” she ran a consulting business as a PreMed Coach, helping students attain their dream of being accepted into medical school. She was a Christ follower and spent many years making friends and serving at Alliance Bible Church (now, The Church at Burns Park) in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Nine years ago, she moved into a downtown condo in Little Rock absolutely loving her big windows and view of the life and river flowing below. She loved creative words and inspirational creations. Her mind was always bubbling with new ideas. She was always the first to want to play Scrabble or Poker at the family lake house and would boast on how she was going to win (again). She loved her family greatly and nothing satisfied her more than spending time with her grandsons and their wives and babysitting her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Debbie (Chris) Cerrato and Shelly (Jimmy) Jennings; her five grandsons and their wives: Zac (Sasha) Cerrato, Tyler (Rebecca) Thomason, Casey (Lauren) Cerrato, Noah Terry, and Payton (Danielle) Terry; her six  great grandchildren: Aria, Zoey, & Sophia Cerrato, Leo Cerrato, Briar & Poppy Thomason; her sister Barbara Gibson and her brother Allen (Laura) DuPuy; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Ira DuPuy and Donna Elaine (West) DuPuy, her brother Gary Wayne DuPuy, and sister Cheryl Ann (DuPuy) Swift.

Her energy, love of life, words of encouragement, and fountain of ideas will be deeply missed this side of eternity.
