Linda Fay Cook

Linda Fay Cook, age 77, of Hot Springs, passed away from this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

She was born on September 27, 1943, in Warren, the daughter of Edgar “Jack” Stewart and Juanice Rodgers Stewart. On October 17, 1964, she married Henry Allen Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kimberly Cook; her son, Jason Cook; and one sister, Sherry Fern Buchanan.

Linda was a member of the 70 West Church of Christ. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1961. She worked at Ouachita Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital on Whittington Avenue, till her husband went to work for a respiratory therapist company from New York. She worked in numerous hospitals due to Henry being transferred to different hospitals where he set up respiratory therapist departments. Linda retired from Baptist Hospital in 1986, after they returned to Hot Springs.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Henry Cook of Hot Springs; two brothers, Rick and Michele Stewart of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Randy and Marlene Stewart of Fort Smith; one brother-in-law, Paul Cook of Hot Springs; her Church of Christ family; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Michael Cox and Heath Larner officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 100 persons at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times when inside the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hutzel, Matt McKee, Kevin Martin, Rusty Grisham, George Pianalto, Ed Courtney and Steven Hanson.

Honorary pallbearers are Tom Shelton, Kevin and Elisa Martin, Sharion Pipkin, George and Rebecca Pianalto, Eddie and Bevla Lamb and Jeriel and Sally Lingo.
