Linda Berry

Linda Berry, 79, of Beebe passed away on November 10, 2023, with family beside her, in her home. She was born on August 5, 1944, in Floyd, Arkansas - in the middle of the cotton harvest. She grew up working in the fields with her family and was remembered as the girl who could usually chop, pick, and pull more cotton than almost anyone. She would leave the field a bit early to fix supper for the family and spoke fondly of the times they would take a break from farming to swim in the creek, to cool off in the heat of summer.

She married Charlie Berry in 1962 and raised four children north of Searcy. She was a devoted mother and provider, who was always working hard and who loved to laugh. She taught Jazzercise in the 1980s and found her calling as a home health aide when her children were older. She loved babies and children and was an affectionate and involved grandmother. As she aged, she loved connecting with and taking care of those around her, in a close-knit elder community in Beebe. Everyone who lived near or worked with her found her generous, compassionate, and loving, with a heart of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Evelyn; her son, Rob; her grandson, Ash; three of her four siblings; and her ex-husband, Charlie. She is survived by sons Scott and Brent (Brinda); daughter Joy (Latt); and by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
