Linda Sue Allen, age 60, of Little Rock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 28, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda graduated from Malvern High School and Baptist School of Practical Nursing. In July 2006, Linda retired from the Central Arkansas VA after twenty-two years of service. Linda was a member of Parkway Place Baptist Church where she served in the children's department. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carl Abbott of Malvern.
Linda, a loving and devoted Mom and Grandma, was always there when we needed her. She loved working with children and passed that love on to her daughter.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert, her best friend, whom she married April 10, 1982; daughter, Rebekah; grandson, Mason; brother, John K. Abbott and wife Mimi of Moreland, Georgia; brother, Joel Abbott of Malvern; niece, Lori Harrison; nephew, John Moore; sister-in-law, Kathy Grover; niece, Angie Wood; aunts, uncles, many cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be Friday, March 30, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Parkway Place Baptist Church, with Reverend Allan Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
Appreciation is expressed to Dr. Mendelsohn and his staff at Little Rock Hematology/Oncology and Hospice Home Care, with special thanks to Rose, Natalie and Sandra for their loving care. A very special thank you to Linda's church family for all the wonderful love they gave over the past several months, with special thanks to her best friend, Glenda Harrington, and other friends, Ruth Ann Davis and Sylvia Davis.
