Lillie Loretta Starkey, 80, of Mayflower, Arkansas, died Friday, January 1, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born November 20, 1940 in Mount Vernon, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Elwin Dale and Elsie Lacewell Rickett. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Dean McClain and later, VK Starkey; a daughter, Kathy McClain Sanders and her sister, Irene Rickett.
Lille worked in staff development, and was very active in AAMD convention and worked with Special Olympics for 15 years. She was Baptist.
She is survived by her son, Glenn R. âRandyâ McClain; grandchildren, Alana Jones, Krista McClain, Kevyn and Cody Rounsavall; Ian Sanders; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Bailey, Wyatt, Coby, Jade, Ava and extended grandchildren, Brandi Kelley and Jessica Wertz. She is also survived by her siblings, Margretta Koonce, Georgetta (Judy) Gossett; Tommy and Martha Gray; Carlton and Jackie Gray; Darlene Harrell; Rex Grady; and Travis Gray, as well as many nieces and nephewsâand she loved them all.
Funeral for Lillie will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Conway, with visitation to begin at 1:00pm. She will be buried on Wednesday at noon, in Avery Cemetery, Avery, Texas, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Conway.
As with standard Covid-19 practices, face coverings must be worn and social distancing must be observed for those wishing to attend Lillieâs services.
