Lillie C. Garner, age 67, of Amity, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
She was born on February 23, 1954, in Amity, the daughter of Cleatous Otto Copeland and Ora Adell Thomason Copeland. On June 16, 1972, she was married to Rickie Joe Garner who preceded her in death on January 23, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wayne Copeland; one sister, Martha Wilson; four brothers-in-law, Archie Wilson, James Wehunt, William Ray Lambert and Carl York; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Copeland.
Lillie was a member of the Amity First Assembly of God Church and a 1972 graduate of Amity High School. She retired from Shelby Manufacturing in 2019, after 43 years of service where she did everything from piecing to running the belt. She enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating cakes, traveling, fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lillie had a sweet spirit, a warm smile, a giving heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rickie Allen and Susie Garner of Havana and Kevin Joegene and Cassandra Garner of Amity; her grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Sylvia, Skylar, Chase, Destiny, Cody, McKenzie and Brynden; her great-grandchildren, Lillian Paige and one on the way, Eian Allen; her brother, Arlo Copeland of Bismarck; her sisters and their spouses, Betty Ann Lambert and Joyce York, both of Amity, Della and Stan Mitchell of Alexander, Fern Wehunt of Caddo Gap, Rebecca and Gary Schaefer of Scott and Penny and James Wright of Bonnerdale; her sister-in-law, Bettie Copeland of Amity; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Lane officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery.
