Lewis David Hodges, 1916 ? 2008, passed away on Friday, October 03, 2008 at his home in North Little Rock. He was born in Austin, Arkansas, but for most of his life he lived in North Little Rock.
Mr. Hodges was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church, and a lifelong Christian. He was a WWII veteran serving from Normandy to Nordhausen.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Hodges Blackwood and son-in-law, Buddy Blackwood, of Roanoke, Virginia; two grandchildren he loved dearly, granddaughter Betsy Blackwood Redfern and her husband, Paul Redfern of Encinitas, California, and grandson John Blackwood and his wife Britt Blackwood of Honolulu, Hawai?i; a great-grandson, Jack Redfern of Encinitas; two sisters, Naomi Harris of Snyder, Texas and Mary Eleanor Boyles of North Little Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Ruth Aaron Hodges. Mr. Hodges was well known and loved for his positive attitude and love of people. He enriched all of our lives, and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at North Little Rock Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 6th. Services will be held at Park Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 7th at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, Children?s Ministries.
The family would like to thank Baptist Hospice, especially Shirley Brown, Pat Grayson, and Benita Johnson for the Christian care he received during his final weeks.
