Lester L. Sims

Lester L. Sims ( L.L.), age 84, of Glenwood, received his heavenly wings on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

He was born in Hereford, Texas on May 13, 1937 to Lester Wilson and Lola Mae (Cox) Sims. On December 24, 1956, he married Phila Sue Sims & spent 57 years married to the love of his life. L.L. & Sue moved to Arkansas in July of 1967. L.L. & Sue were blessed with 8 children: Roy (Gloria) Sims, Phyllis (David) Roehm, Tammy (Myron) Cogburn, Leslie (Tom) Reed, Judy Sims, Butch (Margaret) Sims, Gefer Sims, and Frances Behr; 14 grandchildren, Aaron (Erin) Roehm, Tyson (Crystal) Cogburn, Ben (Dana) Roehm, Katie (Victor) Marquez, Tennille (Dustin) Wray, Chance (Sarah) Cogburn, Willie (Brooke) Bartel, Ethan (Shelby) Williamson, Beth (Tarren) Blansett, Hannah (Deven) Horn, Gilbert Behr, Brilynn Sims, Mason Pinkerton, and Brenlee Sims & 17 great-grandchildren. L.L. is survived by 1 brother, David (Mary) Sims of Sunray, TX.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

L.L. was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Lola, 2 sisters Florene & Juanita, 1 brother Richard, his wife Sue and one daughter, Judy Sims.

Interment services will be held at the old Mt. Tabor Church and Community Building, 6 miles east of Glenwood at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2022, with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
