Lester Nordman

Lester Van Nordman, 96, of Little Rock, passed away April 21, 2021. He was born in Little Rock to George and Asilea Brothers Nordman, who preceded him in death along with his wife, Pavery “Jo” Nordman and daughters, Dolores Kay Nordman and Doris Fay Nordman. Mr. Nordman was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a Captain from the Little Rock Fire Department after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Gideons, and served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Sue McLarty (Tony) and Shelli Renee Nordman; son, Herman Van Nordman; sister, Norma Lorraine Lauderdale; grandchildren, Duke McLarty (Angella), Michael Nordman, Brooke Linneman (Josh), Jesse Nordman (Carrissa) and Jeremy Nordman (Ashley); seven great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, April 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
