Lessie Boardman

Lessie Boardman, of North Little Rock died Friday, September 14, 2007, at the age of 88. Born to Joe and Myrtle Hewitt, June 13, 1919, in Prim (Cleburne County), Arkansas. She was a resident of the Gravel Ridge Community in North Little Rock. Lessie was a lifetime member of the V.F. W. serving as a past President of Chapter #14. She served as State Chaplin for five years. Lessie also served terms as Membership and Legislative Chairman. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of Cooties and served as Chaplin for three years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Myrtle Hewitt, husband, Howard Boardman, sisters Ollie Hooten and Vessie Davis, brothers Floyd Hewitt, Earl Hewitt and Jessie Hewitt.
Lessie is survived by her son James Boardman and wife Linda, two grandchildren Bonnie Boardman and Jeff Boardman and wife Priscilla and many nieces and nephews.
The Boardman family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Hills of Jacksonville for their loving care of Lessie.
Memorials may be made to Charity of choice.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 15, 2007 at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park following the visitation.
