Leslie Eugene "Gene" Hall, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas, born on May 9th, 1929 in Sparkman, Arkansas, passed away on November 7th, 2016 in Little Rock.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10th, followed by a reception, at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas.

Gene is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clarinda Hall; his daughter, Leslie Basham and her husband, Drew; his son, Chris Hall; his granddaughters, Claire Ward and her husband, Alec and Abbey Laureano and her husband, Michael; his grandson, James Basham; a great-grandson, Desmond Laureano; and two nephews, Gary and Dick Heien.

Gene received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arkansas Polytechnic University and a Master of Science Degree from The University of Arkansas. He was a stand-out football star at Little Rock High School and Arkansas Polytechnic University and received an invitation to try out for the Green Bay Packers. Gene was a football and basketball coach at Mountain Home High School, Conway High School and Little Rock Central High School. After retiring from coaching in 1970, he went on to become a Team Sales Specialist at Spaulding Athletic Company of Little Rock. He was a Lieutenant in the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Coach Hall was an exceptional athlete, a great teacher and a legendary football coach. But his lasting legacy will forever be a life lived demonstrating the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to his family and friends. His servant's heart knew no boundaries.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church General Fund.
