LeRoy Nix, Jr., 84, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was born April 3, 1928 in Smackover, Arkansas to LeRoy Nix, Sr. and Ruby Cagle Nix. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and a Retired Major with the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Austin Nix; two daughters, Carrie Weindorf, of North Little Rock and Kathy Nix (Pat), of St. Louis, Missouri; son, John Nix (Kathy), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Christi Weindorf (Tom), Roy Weindorf (Lauren), Michael Weindorf, Ellen Nix, Laura Nix and Jonathon Nix (Jackie); and one great-grandchild, Nohl Weindorf.
Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church Organ Fund, 201 East C Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at Park Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 with full military honors.
