Leonard H. Hays, 85, of Little Rock, passed away October 3, 2013. He was born in Belleville, Arkansas to Lawrence and Elva Farmer Hays and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Geyer Springs United Methodist Church. He was a pilot who loved his job, and he could only be tied down to this earthly ground for so long. So happy he is "flying again."
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roscoe Hays, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Sory Hays; sons, Harold Hays and wife, Pam and David Hays and wife, Cindy, both of Little Rock; grandchildren, Brett Hays, Cara Chapman and husband, Steve, all of Little Rock, Courtney Swiderski and husband, Brad of Maumelle, Tyler Hays, Logan Hays and Dylan Hays, all of Little Rock; great-grandson, Caleb Chapman; sister, Jean Sory and husband, Harlon of Little Rock; and sister-in-law, Robbie Hays.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Graveside service with Military Honors will be Wednesday, October 9 at 12:00 noon at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
