Leona Marie (Gubanski) Beck, 73, of Maumelle, passed from this life on October 27, 2011. She was born to John and Frances Szczepaniak Gubanski on May 17, 1938 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was retired from Safeway, where she worked as a meat wrapper. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Rosary Sodality and Altar Society and was a dedicated volunteer for Hope Ministry.
Mrs. Beck is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adolph H Beck; and 2 sisters, Constance Malchaski and Dorothy Banaszak.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Chester Gubanski and Joe Gubanski of North Little Rock, Arkansas (Marche); numerous nieces and nephews; 2 step sons, Richard Beck of Center Ridge, Arkansas and Col. Anthony Beck of Montgomery, Alabama; 4 step-daughters, Phyllis Gordon and Peggy Jennings of Morrilton, Arkansas, Pam Roberts of Conway, Arkansas and Patti Wiessing of Tanzania, South Africa who will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M. with Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in North Little Rock (Marche). Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in North Little Rock (Marche), celebrated by Fr. T.J. Hart and assisted by Deacon Brunon Strozyk. Burial will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary School Endowment Fund, 7006 Jasna Gora Dr, North Little Rock , Arkansas 72118; Arkansas Hospice of Little Rock, 14 Parkstone, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72112; or Hope Ministry Alliance, 14423 Smalling Rd, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72110.
