Leon Halbert, 82, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, March 23, 2009. He was born August 21, 1926 in Prattsville, Arkansas to Roy Quinn and Alice Carter Halbert. He was owner of Halbert Pipe and Steel Company from 1954 to 1992, a member and deacon of Faith Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ladola Halbert; two daughters, Shela Cooper and her husband, Jerry and Debra Page; son and daughter- in law, Rick and Debi Halbert, all of North Little Rock; two sisters, Sue Green, of Spring, Texas and MaryAnn Kindred, of North Little Rock; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday at Faith Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St. 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nrlfh.com.
