Leoda Bennett

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Leoda Bennett, 86, went to be with her Lord on January 29, 2022.  She was born on June 11, 1935 in Floyd, Arkansas to Ovid and Elsie Poindexter.

Leoda was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Edgar Bennett, daughter Deborah Faye Bennett, granddaughter Sharon Smith, great-great grandson Landon Sims, sisters, Betty Jones, Imogene Gardner, Ann McQueen and brothers, James Poindexter and Lyle Poindexter.

She is survived by daughters Sandy (Brian) Munsey, Beth (Dan) Wilson all of Little Rock; one brother, Phillip (Kay) Poindexter of McRae; grandchildren, Kenny Sims, Richard Sims, Jennifer Sorrells (David Mooney), Nancy Sims, Holly (Chris) Hickey, Janie Munsey (Chris Hannant), Leah Munsey (Orlando Diaz), seventeen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leoda retired from Falcon Jet in Little Rock.  She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed spending time with her family and with her Andover Retirement Center family of friends, where she resided for her last several years.  Leoda enjoyed cooking, especially with and for her family for special occasions.  Her smile and laughter were infectious.

Visitation is Sat, February 5th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.  Funeral services are Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with interment to follow at Antioch Cemetery.  Please visit the online registry at www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook.
