Lennon Parker Sr

Lennon Crawford Parker, Sr. age 94 of Sherwood, passed away December 10, 2014 at Little Rock. He was born on August 11, 1920 in Woodruff County, Arkansas ; and was the son of Benjamin Franklin Parker and Mattie Parker.

Mr. Parker was a proud United States Army Veteran of WWII, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge and in Hearts Mountains where the war ended. Lennon was in the grocery store business most of his life, and was at one time a grocery store's youngest ever manager at the age of seventeen, and later in life he served as a store's oldest manager. Mr. Parker was of the Baptist faith, and was a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a Shriner.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lee Parker, his son Lennon Crawford Parker Jr., his parents, three sisters, three brothers and one grandson.

Survivors include his two children Helen Lennette Davis and Ben Parker; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a brother Doyne Parker and a sister Louise Beard.


Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Sherwood with a Graveside Service following at 1:00 p.m. at Cotton Plant Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home at 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood, Arkansas.
