On Monday, December 13, 2021, Lenita Faye Payte, age 73, of Hot Springs, gained her wings and went to be with our Heavenly Father and many loved ones.
She was the daughter to Chester Lee Townlin and Edna Faye Lovejoy Townlin. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Jonathan Lee Bowers.
Lenita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and family and friend to everyone she met.
Gilmer, Texas, was the home of Lenita for the first part of her life. Her father was a Missionary Baptist Preacher who traveled around the surrounding area preaching, so her and her mother spent a lot of time traveling with him spreading the gospel.
After graduating, Lenita got married to her first husband and they had three children together. Lenita loved being a mom and taking care of her children and even other people’s children. She ran her own daycare for several years and became a second mom to so many, she loved all the children as if they were her own.
As the years went by and circumstances changed, Lenita gravitated to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she met her second husband, and by their surprise, they had a child together. She continued looking after children for those who needed it all while taking care of her household.
Lenita was a selfless, kind, loving and caring woman. She enjoyed taking care of and helping others anyway she could. Everyone that she crossed paths with loved her like their own and she loved them. She was cut from a one-of-a-kind cloth and is simply irreplaceable.
Heaven certainly gained an angel.
Lenita is survived by her husband Clarence Payte, of Hot Springs; her children Charnita Bradshaw of Hot Springs, Mark Bowers of Little Rock, Dean Payte of Arizona, Corena and Armand Myers of Sumter, South Carolina; and her granddaughter, Crystal Bradshaw; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many wonderful friends.
