Lee'O Ann Rorex Cross of North Little Rock, passed away March 24, 2011. Born June 27, 1917, youngest child of Benjamin Lee and Ruth Shinn Rorex of Russellville, Arkansas. Received her education in Russellville and married Edward Floyd Cross of Wister, Oklahoma in October, 1940.
They were founders and owners of Cross Auto Supply in Morrilton, Dardanelle, and Ozark. They were NAPA jobbers for 35 years making Morrilton their home base until their retirement in 1975.
They were active members of First Baptist Church of Morrilton with Lee'O singing in choir from 14 until her retirement in 1975. She taught beginning Sunday school for 17 years. A member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood, Lee'O was an active member of Healer Sunday school class; 55 and Alive adult group of church and a charter member of "Forever Friends" of Hot Springs.
They moved to North Little Rock in 1976 and began traveling the United States, Canada, and Old Mexico while maintaining their home in North Little Rock until 1985 at this time moving to Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. They remained there until Mr. Cross' death in 1992. Lee'O then returned to North Little Rock.
There are no immediate family members remaining, there are two nieces Carolyn Ann Rorex Stokes of Hot Springs and Mary Ruth Chandler of North Little Rock. Very close friends, Larry Harris of Pottsville, Rose Mays of North Little Rock, Ed Massey of Morrilton and Sally Walker Eicher of St. James, Missouri, and a host of in-laws and great nieces and great-nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist church of Sherwood, 701 Country Club Rd. Sherwood, AR. 72120. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel of Sherwood with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, AR at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel of Sherwood prior to the funeral services.
