LD Combs

LD Combs, age 83, of England, AR, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 18, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

LD was born in England, AR on May 10, 1939, to his father, Green Berry Combs and mother, Maudie Mae (Pierce) Combs. His parents had six children; four boysand 2 girls with LD being the oldest. He spent the better part of his life in Arkansas where he met and married his first wife Sirlena Combs on December 24, 1958, and raised their two children, (son) Larry Combs and (daughter) Carol (Combs) Johnston. They were married until Sirlena’s passing on December 23, 1996. LD met his second wife, Linda (Iles) Combs in 1998 and were married on March 12, 1999, whom he shared three daughters, Janel Iles, Janae (Iles) Tableriou and Jamie (Iles) Abshire, until Linda passed away on August 14, 2013.

LD spent most of his life working two jobs at Rands in North Little Rock, AR working with computers and at Bemberg in Little Rock, AR as a welder. In his spare time, he loved to fish and spend time with his kids and grandkids. LD had an easy-going personality and was quite the jokester who loved to make people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Mae, father, Green Berry, sister, Betty, two brothers, Danny and Billy, daughter, Carol and both wives, Sirlena and Linda. LD is survived by his son, Larry (Sandra) Combs, daughters Janel, Janae (Tony), and Jamie (Jason), and several grandchildren, including two great granddaughters and one great grandson. The family would like to give special thanks to Brooke with Baptist Home Health, Dr. Geoghagan, Arkansas Urology Clinic, and Baptist Springhill CCU/Hospice for their amazing care and compassion.

Family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main St, NLR). Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Robertstown Cemetery in Hattieville, AR.
