Laurie Mosley

Laurie A Rosenberg- Mosley was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania on February 7th, 1962. Her parents were Harold Rosenberg and Verna Metzinger-Rosenberg. She passed from this earthly journey on May 6, 2024 at home in Little Rock with her husband William Kent Mosley and newest puppy companion of 4 months, Molly Mosley. She will be joined in heaven with her Mom and Dad and many fur babies she shared a life with. She is survived by her brother Larry Rosenberg (Becky Rosenberg), nephew Andrew Rosenberg (Lisa Rosenberg), niece Julie Spires(Chris Spires), and a deceased brother Don Rosenberg (veteran of 2 tours of duty in Vietnam).She enjoyed her daily reading of Jesus Calling, and listening to her friend Banjo’s gospel program. Laurie was a person who had a passion for art, cooking, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, high fashion on a budget and water activities.
 
She was an honor student at Oil City High School where she was the band secretary and played the flute. She was a choir director at her church and sang many a lead on Sunday morning. She enjoyed the theatrics at a young age playing Dorothy in a school play of “The Wizard of Oz”. She claims she learned her artist skills when she kept running out of coloring books and her mom gave her a sketch book and crayons and told her to draw her own pictures. And she did.
 
She graduated with an associate degree in business from Clarion University campus near her hometown, but art was always her passion.
 
Life took her to Round Rock, Texas where she made new friends, she obtained her Optician Certification and again made new friends at Broom Optical in Amarillo; later moving to Little Rock. Slowly she was becoming a southerner…. And claimed it. She liked warm weather and said she would keep moving south…. Just not moving north anymore.
 
In 1999 she married Wm. Kent Mosley and lived the next 25 years till her recent passing. During these years she continued her art work…. And picked up some new hobbies. Frog gigging, duck hunting, hiking, and exploring Arkansas, New Orleans, St. Louis, Florida, the Gulf Coast, and other roads less traveled.
 
Along her life’s journey she met many friends and enjoyed the love of her family and friends. A brother's love and a lifetime adventure trip to Disney World were a cherished memory of hers. Thank you Larry. Her cherished life long friends from Oil City, the new friends she met in her travels. New friends she made here in Little Rock. The Family she found at her favorite restaurants and haunts. Special thanks to so many. Pizza D’s, Crazee’s, Zach’s. Thank you guys… and gals. Your friendship meant so much to her as her world grew smaller in her declining health.
 
A Memorial Celebration and remembrance of her life will be held Tuesday May 28 th at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home at 3:00 in the afternoon. With a visitation a half hour prior. Thereafter I encourage those willing to meet at Pizza D’Action at 2919 W. Markham for Taco Tuesday. She always looked forward to Taco Tuesdays there and Alice always took good care preparing her something good.
