Larry Wayne Neyland, 72, of Hot Springs, AR passed away December 25, 2021. Born in Pasadena, TX to Lenard and Clara Ibrom Neyland, Larry was a fabricator and owned his own upholstery business. A jack-of-all trades, he loved building hot rods, antique cars, and motorcycles. As a young man, he served as Firefighter for the Pasadena Fire Department and was a Mounted Patrol Officer in Texas. Papa Larry loved his grandchildren and prided himself on being “the toymaker.” Monthly trips to the barber with Korbin for haircuts were always a highlight for him. He was an artist at heart and encouraged anyone he saw raw talent in to pursue it. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed floating the river and skiing.
He went to great lengths to prove his point, and to be the first to loudly say “I told you so.” He enjoyed doing anything that got a reaction (good or not so good), or a laugh out of his audience. He was a self-proclaimed “professional s**t talker.” Larry lived his life on his own terms. He cared deeply for his children, was an advocate for all children and dedicated a lot of time and effort to see to it that his children enjoyed their life. He was a kid at heart, he loved Halloween and going to the cafe for breakfast. He worked hard, he played hard and loved to laugh no matter which one he was doing. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Larry is survived by his mother, Clara Neyland; his children, Angie Neyland McKendree (Jay), Abe Neyland, Bailey Neyland Webb (Stephen), Trevor Burns (Sam), Megan Burns and Eric Cooper (Marion); grandchildren, Brendan, Cayla, JoJo, Kenna & Jax, Korbin & LeeAnn, Meredith, Liam & Sophie; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Bell; great-grandson Tomas; and a host of other family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lenard Charley Neyland and his infant son, Seth Len Neyland.
