Lawrence (Larry) E. LaMaide, 86, of Menominee, MI passed peacefully at the home of his daughter, Mary (Joe) Luke of Hot Springs, AR on Thursday, October 27, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  He was born in Hermansville, MI to the late Edward and Lucille (Plunger) LaMaide on October 2, 1936.

Larry was very proud to have served in the US Navy aboard the USS Muliphen in 1957, serving in the Korean War. He worked for Fish Net and Twine in Menominee, MI for over 40 years and was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Menominee, MI.

He was married to Beverly (Knutson) LaMaide on June 7, 1958, in Menominee, MI.  They had 64 wonderful years together.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and going for walks.  One of his many passions was woodworking.  He would spend hours creating things that he would then give to his family.  He loved his family very much and would always make funny faces to make them laugh. He was always easy going and will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Beverly (Knutson) LaMaide, daughters, Lori (Mike) Deeter of Menominee, MI and Mary (Joe) Luke of Hot Springs, AR.  Grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Lauzer of Green Bay, WI, Kevin Lauzer of Menominee, MI, Rebekah (Bryan) Koepp and Erikah Lange of Glendale, WI, Brody and Lucy Luke of Hot Springs, AR.  Great grandchildren, Austin Lauzer, Sadie, Eva and Alexa Ruelle of Green Bay, WI.

He is further survived by sisters, Roslie (Don) Crawford of Bark River, MI, Anne (John) Torreano of Escanaba, MI, Mary Kay (Randy) Carlson of Gladstone, MI, Cecelia Brown of Parkersburg, WV, brothers, Pat LaMaide of Hermansville, MI and Harvey LaMaide of Nashville, TN and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Lloyd Lange of Peshtigo, WI, his sister Luetta Krajewski and brothers Lucien LaMaide, Donald LaMaide and Karl LaMaide.

Larry will be buried at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR. There will be a Memorial Service in Menominee, MI at a later date to be decided.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral home in Hot Springs, AR.
