Larry I. Hill went to be with his Lord on September 14, 2006. He had fought a long battle with cancer and a broken back. Larry retired from ABF after 32 years, and finally retired from his stock car racing in 1980. He will be remembered by many friends and fans for driving his beloved black Ford # 64 to many championship races. Larry gave all of himself to friends and family alike. He'll surely be missed by all who came in contact with him.
Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Cooper Hill; a very special great-grandson, Kolby Phillips Hill, of the home; son, Sam Hill (Michelle) of Carl Junction, Missouri; stepson, Jackie Collins Hill (Debbie) of Little Rock, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Jeanie Ozment (Dan) of Bald Knob, Arkansas. Also surviving are his grandchildren, April Abshire, Maggie Clay, Serenity Smith, Doughty Howell, June Allen, Candice Skaggs, Jeffrey Skaggs, Ryan Hill, Gabbie Hill,Rachael Hill and Austin Green; and twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Billie Landis, of Judsonia and Mary Hickman (Jimmie) of Bald Knob; son, Larry Joe Hill of Joplin, Missouri and daughter, Cindy Skaggs of Seneca, Missouri.
Visitation will be on Sunday evening, September 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow), Little Rock. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Reverend Al Henager.
