Larry Dickson

Larry Lorraine Dickson, 81, the youngest son of Walter and Tinie Dickson, of Sherwood passed away November 29, 2019. He is survived by daughter, Deborah Brown; grandsons, Chad and Chase Brown. He was preceded by his wife, Jackie Dickson, who was a lifetime member of Sylvan Hills Eastern Stars. They were the owners of Dickson music in Sherwood, Arkansas.

Larry had been working at Keathley Patterson Electric but quit and began full time in the music business. They taught hundreds, maybe even thousands, how to play- young and old- and loved every minute of it. Jackie became ill and had to stay at home but Larry and Mike Benetz, first a student then longtime friend and partner, kept the business alive. They played benefits, bluegrass festivals, and took their students with them, putting them on stage as often as they could.

They are now back together, playing music in Heaven and smiling again, leaving all pain and worries behind them.

Special thanks to Mike Benetz, Dr. Jauss and staff of CARTI, and Arkansas Hospice for all of their help.

A Celebration of their Lives will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Park Hill Baptist Church in the gymnasium. There will be music and refreshments and everyone is welcome to attend.
