Larry Ray Cox, 70, of Beebe, AR went to be with the Lord August 8, 2021. He was born on October 13, 1950 in Little Rock, to James and Julia Cox. Larry was a member of the Church of Christ. He first loved and obeyed his Lord and Savior and encouraged others to do the same.
He was the dedicated owner of Hometown Hardware, which was his passion for over twenty years. It made him happy to go to the store every day and he loved to visit with his customers; he made many friends over the years and appreciated their loyalty. Larry was a Veteran of the Arkansas National Guard.
Larry is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Kim Cox of Beebe, two sons, Cody (Tia) Cox of Maumelle, Clay Cox of Beebe; one sister, Connie (Chuck) Chambers of Searcy, one brother Mike (Karen) Cox of McRae; three grandchildren, David Ray, Lynley and Mabry – these grandchildren brought him so much joy and happiness and he loved them dearly. Larry also leaves brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews. He loved his family very much and always encouraged them in everything they did.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in law, Eugene and Helen Covington, brothers, Dennis and David Cox and sisters, Mary Wise (twin), and Lola Mobley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 11th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Service on Thursday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
