Larry Charles Burnett, 74 of Friendship, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 27, 2009. He was born September 5, 1934, to L.C. and Alice (Sandage) Burnett. He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Holly Nichole.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Venette (Furr), son, Michael Burnett and his wife Vickie of Friendship, four daughters, June Moore of Friendship and her husband Steven of Smackover, Diana Boyce and her husband James of Curtis, Susan Abrahamsen and her husband Kevin of Hot Springs, Mira Jerry and her husband Kenneth of Smackover, and grandchildren Wesley Boyce, Amber Moore Lindsey, Brittany Jerry, Sara Boyce, Zachary Burnett, Randy Jerry, Phoebe Ulmer and Trent Ulmer. He is also survived by brothers Thomas Burnett of Friendship and Mitchell Burnett of Donaldson, sisters Barbara McAnally of Donaldson, Mary Phillips of Poyen, and Doris Holloway of Arkadelphia, and many other loving relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church of Donaldson. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was owner of Arkadelphia Sheet Metal for 36 years and retired in 2001. He was an avid beekeeper and served on the Executive Committee for the Arkansas State Beekeepers Association, was a member of the Greater Hot Springs Beekeeper Association and the South Arkansas Beekeepers Association.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, at the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Donaldson with Elders Neil Phelan, Jr. and James Winston officiating. Burial is to be at Gilchrist Cemetery in Friendship. Visitation will be Sunday 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
