Larry B. Baxter, age 63, of Kirby, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011. He was born on September 3, 1948, at Blackton, the son of Bennett Ball Baxter and Bernice Anderson Baxter. On July 6, 1973, he was married to Kathryn Bradford. He retired from the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He also served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby and the Stewart Hunting Club. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Baxter of Kirby; his son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Tameisha Baxter of Kirby; his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Eric Conner of Kirby; five grandchildren; his brother, Rexie A. Baxter and his wife, Mary, of Kirby; his half-brother, Mark Baxter and his wife, Joy, of Iuka, Mississippi; his half-sister, Donna Kay Boyles and her husband, Donald, of Iuka, Mississippi; his step-mother, Dollie Baxter of Iuka, Mississippi; his step-brother, Steve W. Woodall of Kirby; his step-sister, Denise Rader and her husband, Gary, of Ravenna, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2011, in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby with Bro. Bobby Golden and Bro. Jackie Herring officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Kirby Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Chris Anderson, Chad Stewart, Wade Stewart, Jody Abernathy, Jason Baxter and Ronnie White. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, c/o Harlon Duren, P.O.
