Laqueta Ann (Ward) Tigue Goodner

Laqueta Ann Ward Tigue Goodner, age 78, of Glenwood, passed away on August 30th, 2024. 

Born on May 16th, 1946, at home in the township of Mazarn, to Royce and Evelyeen Pennington Ward. 

She is preceded in death by her spouses Roy Charles Tigue and Ray Clifton Goodner; parents, Royce & Evelyeen Ward; brother James Ward; daughter Ginger Seals; brother-in-law Freddy Tigue, and grandson Zachary Charles Voan. 

Survivors include her daughter Darla Nuckols; son-in-law Danny Seals; sister Gail Tidwell(Harley); sister-in-laws Betty Pennington(Doyle); Charlotte Tigue; Francis Chambers, and Patricia Ward; grandchildren Morgan & Jacob Cogburn, Jalyn & John Hackney, Daniel & Delaina Adams, Ashley & Garland Cox; step-children, Karen & Tom Griffith; Kim & Andy Milne; Chad Goodner; Cliff Goodner; step-grandchildren Calli & Gary Ramos, Baleigh Goodner, Kyle Goodner; Drew & Amy Milne, Britain & Jurika Morris, Braeden & Cate Morris, Courtney Mcbe; 12 Great-Grandchildren; as well as extended nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. 

Laqueta spent many years being a stay-at-home, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed meeting and visiting with her customers any chance she got. 

Laqueta was a lifelong member of Community Bible Baptist Church. She served as an EMT, a singer, and a songwriter for Glory land Express Gospel group, she worked at the glove factory in Glenwood, and H&R Block doing taxes for many years. Laqueta enjoyed helping people any chance she got. Anyone who knew her knew how proud of her family she was and heard about her family antics. She was her great-grandchildren’s number-one cheerleader! 

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood. 

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2024, at Glenwood First Baptist Church with Brother Tony Hill officiating. 

Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Jacob Cogburn, John Hackney, BJ Tubbs, Donny Tigue, Ronny Tigue, Chris Tigue. 

Honorary Pallbearers are the members of the Community Bible Baptist Church, Chuck Voan, Jim Nuckols, Robert Adams, Rodney & Donna Cogburn, Lynn Hackney, Anthony & Megan Ray, Ronnie & Sherri Weaver.
