Lana Turner

June 9, 1961 — August 18, 2020

Lana Turner

Lana Alane Turner, 59, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away August 18, 2020.  She was born June 9, 1961 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert Oliver Taylor and Mary Etta Villareal (Kissire).

Lana worked at Carlton Bates Electrical Supply and retired as a purchasing agent with the Little Rock Water Department.   She loved the Lord and lived for Him everyday.  Lana would always open her Bible and read whatever her eyes fell upon to meditate on during the day.   Family refers to Lana as the rock of the family and the concrete who held their family together.  Before Lana met her husband, Dan, she worked hard as a single mother, doing all she could to provide for her children.  She was a strong woman who took what life handed her and made the best out of it.  Lana always made time for her family and friends and often called them to make sure they were ok and to check to see if they needed anything.  She had an unconditional love and compassion that held no boundaries.  Lana was the best cook.  Everything she made was delicious…from chocolate gravy and homemade biscuits to her soups, stews, and goulash.  She enjoyed playing Bunko with friend, animals, Elvis music, and was a huge fan of 98.5 radio with disk jockey Craig O’Neal.   Whether you called her “Chicken Legs”, “Lizard”, “Nana”, “Mom”, “Sister”, or Friend, nothing can compare to the gift of knowing and loving Lana.

Preceding Lana in death are her father, Robert Oliver “Papaw” Taylor; and grandparents, Mildred and Lloyd “GG and Jiggs” Kissire.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory:  her loving husband of twenty-five years, Dan Turner of Alexander, Arkansas; children:  Alana “Nichole” Barr and husband James of Bryant, Arkansas and Trey Taylor of Little Rock; grandchildren:  Tristan Taylor, Nora Taylor, Dexter Barr, Silas Barr, Oliver Barr, Kinzie, and Avery; mother, Mary Etta Villareal of Fordyce, Arkansas; step-mother, Janette “Jan” Taylor of Bryant, Arkansas; siblings:  Scott Patrick Taylor of Little Rock, Robert Oliver Taylor, Jr. of Arkadelphia, Andrea Moody of Florida, Angie Armstrong of Texas, and Audra Taylor of Hensley, Arkansas; step-children:  Erica and Aaron Turner of Benton, Arkansas; and many family members and friends.
