Lacey DeAnn Groomer Brooks, age 46, of Glenwood, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
She was born on July 31, 1976, in Amarillo, Texas.
On November 27, 2009, she was married to the true love of her life, Justin Brooks. Lacey was the Subway Regional Manager for Glenwood, Mount Ida and Nashville stores, where she was often considered the “Boss Lady” but was always appreciated by her employees and customers for her stern but kind way of treating everyone. She loved spending time outdoors, especially anywhere there was water and was often referred to by her family and friends as a “river rat” because she found great peace in the beauty of the water.
Above all, Lacey’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially when she was watching her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was truly a wonderful and loving Mom, Wife, Gamma, Daughter and Sister and it obviously goes without saying, she will be missed by all those who were fortunate to have known her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Justin Brooks; two sons, Derian Arrick and Kollin Arrick and his spouse, Chelsie Tenbrink; three daughters, Baylea Groomer and her spouse, Brian Tucker, Sade Killip and her spouse, Jackson Landreth; and Chloe Kay; her grandchildren, Gage Groomer, Ariael Arrick, Lacey Arrick and Malachi Arrick; her companions and forever faithful pets, Pyper, Layla and Scrappy.
She is also survived by her mother, Vicki Mobley; her brother, Clint (Buffer) Groomer; her brother-in-law, Eddie Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Groomer; and her sister, Storme Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Blessed On The Rock Church in Amity with Pastor Richmond Bates officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Harmon, Jimmy Sutton, Gage Groomer, Lacey’s employer, Subway and her many co-workers; and Justin’s employer and his many co-workers.
