L. Florene Goolsby

L. Florene Goolsby, age 100, of Hot Springs, passed away on August 28, 2022.

She was born on August 18, 1922, in Benton, the daughter of Jess Henson and Bertha Skates Henson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ovie Goolsby; her son, Noel Glen Goolsby; her parents; five siblings; one daughter-in-law, Theresa Goolsby; one son-in-law, Cleon Fite; and grandchild, Hope Lynn Taylor.

Florene studied art at National Park Community College and eventually was an early member of the Hot Springs Artist Workshop.  She loved painting, was a fabulous gardener and enjoyed her farm and family the most.  She was so proud to turn 100 years old on August 18th of this year.  She was the center of her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Survivors include her daughter, Ovita Goolsby; one grandchild, Robert Alan Russell; three great-grandchildren, Laken Bell, Bryar Alan Bell and Beau Noel Taylor; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation 10:00AM, Friday, September 2, 2022, in the Sweet Home Church, Amity, followed by graveside services at 11:00AM, in the Sweet Home Cemetery.
